Cocoponics Africa Ltd. works towards raising a new generation of farmers (NexGen), who rely on hydroponics technology. This technology offers a safer and less toxic method of farming. The business provides their clients, small scale farmers, with infrastructure and the basic skills and support needed for hydroponics farming. This involves provision of; biomass fuel pellets from coconut waste and provision of coco peat, an organic substrate used as a growth medium.
The business partners with her clients through one of two classes; the Simba class, consisting of members who have a green house and can pay for the hydroponic kit and the Chui class, consisting of members who have a greenhouse but cannot pay for the hydroponic kit. Nexgen sets up the kit once paid for, either partially or wholly dependent on the client’s class, then manages and markets the product in exchange for an agreed profit share percentage.
