The In-Country YouthADAPT Program is part of the African Development Bank and Global Center on Adaptation’s African Adaptation Acceleration Program (AAAP), which aims to mobilize USD 25 billion for climate adaptation across Africa. Implemented by KCIC in Kenya and other partners in Tanzania, Rwanda, Ghana, and Nigeria, the program empowers youth-led enterprises to develop and scale climate adaptation solutions in food security and infrastructure.

The In-Country YouthADAPT Program is part of the African Development Bank and Global Center on Adaptation’s African Adaptation Acceleration Program (AAAP), which aims to mobilize USD 25 billion for climate adaptation across Africa. Implemented by KCIC in Kenya and other partners in Tanzania, Rwanda, Ghana, and Nigeria, the program empowers youth-led enterprises to develop and scale climate adaptation solutions in food security and infrastructure.
The program is anchored on four pillars: enabling policy reforms, scaling youth innovations through the Youth Adaptation Solutions Challenge, building youth capacity and unlocking access to finance, and mainstreaming “adaptation jobs” into investment projects.
Technical support
Through targeted incubation, technical assistance, and investor readiness support, YouthADAPT bridges the gap between innovative potential and market viability. Initiatives such as the “Dragon’s Den” pitch events connect enterprises to domestic private sector investors, unlocking critical financing for scaling.
By leveraging the GCA’s global expertise and KCIC’s on-the-ground enterprise support, YouthADAPT strengthens youth entrepreneurship, unlocks private sector investment, and contributes to building a more climate-resilient and economically empowered Africa.
