ClimateLaunchpad is the world’s largest green business ideas competition, founded on the belief that innovation and entrepreneurship can drive the transition to a clean future. ClimateLaunchpad is organised by EIT Climate-KIC, co-funded by the European Union, and is being implemented in Kenya by the Kenya Climate Innovation Centre. The competition provides a platform for early-stage cleantech ideas to grow into sustainable businesses with global impact.
It targets innovators with ideas in areas such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, agriculture, water, transport, and industrial technologies—essentially any solution that tackles climate change through cleantech. Participants don’t need fully developed business plans; even early-stage concepts are welcome, provided they demonstrate commercial potential and climate impact.
In Kenya, ClimateLaunchpad has consistently supported students and entrepreneurs to showcase and refine their innovations. Globally active in more than 50 countries, the programme has produced a strong pipeline of startups that not only address pressing climate challenges but also contribute to green job creation and sustainable economic growth.
