Africa meets Bavaria Project

The Africa meets Bavaria Initiative (16 September 2024 – 15 September 2026) is a two-year program designed to foster collaboration between Bavaria and Africa, supporting the development of sustainable startups and expanding economic relations. Backed by the Bavarian State Chancellery, the project focuses on four African technology hubs: the Kenya Climate Innovation Center (Kenya), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (Ghana), iceaddis (Ethiopia, Kenya), and Mount Kenya University (Kenya). The initiative offers a qualification and exchange program that includes a 2-week Digital Product Development Certificate Course, a 12-week Digital Product Development Course, and a 2-month internship at German start-ups. Through these programs, participants gain skills to develop innovative, commercially viable, and ecologically sustainable digital products, while acquiring knowledge on founding and scaling startups.

KCIC is leading the local promotion and implementation of the program, including candidate recruitment, mentoring, and participant support. UnternehmerTUM on the other hand will organize the academic and internship components, provide training and resources, while working hand in hand with KCIC in key decision-making processes. The collaboration aims to empower African entrepreneurial talent and establish a long-term partnership between the Parties.
