NAIROBI, Kenya – Thursday May 22, 2025 – The Kenya Climate Innovation Center (KCIC) and Raisin Capital Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to bolster support for climate-focused enterprises in Kenya. The formal agreement was signed on Monday, May 19, 2025, at KCIC’s Nairobi offices by KCIC CEO Joseph Murabula and Raisin Capital CEO Francis Nasyomba.
This strategic partnership is designed to significantly enhance access to capital and investment opportunities for businesses developing innovative climate solutions. A key component of the collaboration will be leveraging Raisin Capital’s flagship platform, Capital Connect Africa (www.capitalconnect.africa). Through Capital Connect, enterprises, including those supported by KCIC, will gain access to essential tools, industry insights, and critical resources necessary to successfully navigate their capital-raising journey. The platform employs a data-driven matchmaking process, ensuring businesses are connected with investors whose funding criteria, industry focus, and growth stage objectives align with their specific needs.
The collaboration will encompass several key areas, including:
- Utilizing Capital Connect for KCIC’s calls for applications.
- Referring promising businesses from KCIC’s pipeline to the Capital Connect platform for broader investment support.
- Jointly supporting KCIC’s investment summits.
- Conducting collaborative webinars focused on investor readiness and preparedness.
- Providing post-exit support for KCIC alumni businesses through Raisin Capital’s diverse product suite.
