KCIC Group yesterday held a team building event best known to the company as ‘Akwaaba’, to unwind after a busy first quarter of the year and also interact physically for the first time after the pandemic hit globally.

‘Akwaaba’ which means welcome in Twi, a language of the  Akan people of Ghana, is an activity by KCIC Group that allows members to interact and improve as individuals and an organisation overall.

The event, held at Eden Bliss Gardens, brought together all the staff from the three KCIC Group Divisions: Kenya Climate Innovation Centre (KCIC), Kenya Climate Ventures(KCV) and KCIC Consulting Limited (KCL) to get to know each other better through interactive sessions such as playing quiz games, hearty conversations and sharing meals to deepen their staff relationships.

In attendance were the Group CEO Dr. Edward Mungai, Prabhakar Vanam, CEO KCIC Consulting Ltd and Victor Ndiege, CEO KCV, who each led their staff in different team building activities.

“We have come together as KCIC group to build on our bond and interact with each other. It has been a difficult year dealing with Covid-19 and working remotely. Due to this we have only met virtually. However, through Akwaaba we have gotten the opportunity to finally meet physically and bond,” said Solomon Irungu, Communication Manager KCL.

He adds that Akwaaba is also an opportunity for the team to exchange more ideas on how they can further improve on the KCIC Group brand, how better to implement various strategies and overall how they can offer KCIC clients better services.

Below is a pictorial of what went down during the Akwaaba, from dancing, to eating, and overall having fun…
