Sunny Money sources for funds to impact 30,000 lives by June 2017

Sunny Money Africa Ltd is a for profit social enterprise that focuses on providing affordable solar energy products to people living in rural areas, by providing affordable solar energy solutions. The company aims to give people affordable clean energy- solar lighting solutions through their Solar Home Systems kits. Some of their products range from solar lamps to solar television sets.

The company which was established in 2016 is known for supplying affordable solar products in the market which are durable, readily available and preferred by most clients. Sunny Money recently launched a new product which is a Pay As You Go (PAYG) kit. With this PAYG kit the client pays a small deposit of Ksh 2,500 and an average of Ksh 220 every week for a period of 13.5 months. This product provides a number of benefits to the consumer. It is a clean energy source which protects the users’ health from the emissions from unconventional sources of energy which over long periods of time proves to be harmful to their health.

The product is a safe source of energy which can be operated even by children. Most source of energy can be operated by children. One solar home kit will lead to reduced CO2 emissions at the rate of 50 kilograms per month. The performance of school going children will improve because they will have up to 40 extra hours per month of clean energy lighting for studying. Each household will be able to save Ksh 900 per month which when broken down is ksh 600 on lighting and Ksh 300 on mobile charging per month. With such a quality product with an affordable payment plan, the company targets to reach a wider market and be a solution to their energy needs.

By partnering with Sunny Money through donations, they will be able to distribute 6,000 kits by the end of June 2017 and impact 30,000 lives! Translating to 6,000 families and 18,000 children.
